Fluent in English (mother tongue). Proficient in Italian. 

Emily is American and holds a Master’s degree in Teaching from Virginia Commonwealth University in the United States. She is certified to teach English abroad by the International TEFL Academy. She has specialized certification in Teaching English to Young Learners, and English Tutoring Online.

Emily feels extremely lucky to be able to share fundamental life skills with her young students at Starling. She hopes that she can leave these gifts - the gifts of English, reading, spelling, adding and subtracting, cleanliness and organization, playing with friends and belonging with all of her students - that they can bring into the world and follow their own dreams, just like she was able to do. Emily will always feel like the luckiest girl in the world, who gets to live her dream every day.

In addition to teaching preschool, Emily teaches small groups and private after-school lessons. As Lead Teacher at Starling, she develops school curricula, implements teaching strategies, and fosters a positive learning environment.
